Car TV
In short: Car TV has no accounts and doesn't track you. Your playlists, favorites and imported videos stay on your iPhone. We don't sell or share your personal information.
This policy explains how the Car TV app for iPhone and CarPlay ("Car TV", "the app") handles information. Car TV is published by Vandana Merja ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information stored on your device
To work, Car TV saves the following on your iPhone only. None of it is sent to us:
- Sources you add: M3U/M3U8 playlist links or pasted playlist text, and the channel lists they contain.
- Your library: favorites, preview thumbnails and app settings such as appearance.
- Imported videos: videos you import from Photos or Files are copied into the app's own storage on your iPhone.
Deleting a source in the app removes its data. Deleting the app removes everything it has stored.
Information we don't collect
We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number or location. We don't use advertising, ad identifiers or cross-app tracking, and we don't collect your viewing history.
Third-party services
Playlists and streams you add
When you load a playlist or play a channel, your iPhone connects directly to that playlist or stream provider. As with any internet connection, the provider can see your IP address and what you request from it. Those providers are not controlled by us, and their own privacy policies apply.
Permissions
- Photos and Files: used only when you choose videos to import. The app only receives the items you select.
- Screen broadcast: when you start mirroring, iOS captures your screen and Car TV shows it on your car's display. Nothing is recorded or saved. You can stop mirroring at any time.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We use it only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
Children
Car TV is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Almost everything Car TV stores is on your own device, so you control it: edit or delete sources in the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data. For any privacy request, including requests under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, email us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
